Situated on the finest wide, white, sandy beach on the island of Zanzibar and located on the East Coast in an area known as Kiwengwa, the hotel is only 35 minutes’ drive from Stone Town and the airport on a good tarmac road to within metres from the hotel.

The Hotel offers a wide range of facilities in addition to the magic Indian Ocean "Spice Island" itself. The OASIS Spa is the ultimate place to completely rejuvenate your body and elevate your mind. Treatments are in airy sea view rooms, over looking the beach and the turquoise ocean beyond.

The hotel is situated on a 25 acre site with more than 1,000 palm trees lining the clear white beach.

Bluebay Beach Resort is an environmentally friendly destination and is a Green Globe 21 organization, committed by way of the latest technologies to recycling all waste and reduce all noise pollution in order to preserve the fragile environment of the island of Zanzibar. The resort is actively pursuing the government of Zanzibar to declare the Kiwenga area a marine and nature reserve in an effort to protect plant and marine life in the area.
