South Luangwa National Park may not the best known safari destination in Africa, but rubs shoulders with the very best in the continent. It’s excellent reputation for local guides means you will get to see the best of the area’s wildlife. The Luangwa and other rivers in the park are packed full of hippos and crocodiles, and there are huge herds of buffalo and many elephants. South Luangwa also boasts several rare species, including the Thornicroft’s giraffe, Crawshay’s zebra and the Crookson’s wildebeest.
