Day 1
From Arusha you’ll transfer to the base of Mount Kilimanjaro for an overnight stay at the Mountain Inn.
Day 2
The adventure proper starts today as you transfer to the Marangu gate to enter Kilimanjaro National Park and start your climb. The trek starts with a climb through lush rainforest as you approach your first mountain hut, where you will eat and spend the night. Mandara hut lies at an altitude of 2,725 metres, a climb of 3-4 hours.
Day 3
After a breakfast at Mandara hut, you’ll strike onwards, through Alpine meadows and steadily climbing. As the altitude rises, your pace will start to slow, but you will be amply rewarded by views of Kibo and Mawenzi mountains and the interesting local flora. It should take approximately five hours to make the 12-kilometre climb to Horombo Hut, which is at 3,780 metres. Eat and sleep at the hut.

Day 5
The last stage of your ascent up Mount Kilimanjaro will start very early, at around 3AM while the scree is still frozen. There will be a very steep climb on the way to Gilman’s Point, the most difficult part of the trek. This will take about five hours and take you to 5,680 metres. A further hour’s walk along Crater’s rim takes you to Uhuru peak where you will be standing 5,895 metres above sea level. After enjoy the views and achievement you’ll need to start your descent back down to Horombo Hut for a further overnight stay.
Day 6
Your way back down Kilimanjaro will be much quicker, and you’ll make it all the way back down to the national park gate today to be met and taken back to the Mountain Inn for a well-earned dinner and overnight stay in comfort.
Day 7
