Namibia is best-known for its towering red sand dunes and remote desert regions, and the Namib Naukluft Park is the place to witness some of its most stunning scenery. The incredible 300-metre dunes at Sossusvlei and an array of rare and wonderful plant and animal life can be found here, within the 15,500-square-mile conservation area. Climbing the dunes as the sun rises, with the morning light creating sharp shadows and subtly changing colours, is a truly unforgettable experience.
The park is the largest protected area in Namibia and as well as its famous dunes, also covers the central Namib desert and the rugged Naukluft Mountains.

Namib Naukluft Park is the largest conservation area in Namibia covering 40,000 square km and covers much of the Naukluft Mountains and central Namib Desert. The famous Sossusvlei sand dunes at 300m, are the highest in the world.On the coast Sandwich Harbour is a bird and nature lovers haven. The lagoon is fed by fresh water and is a sanctuary for large numbers of coastal birds.
