12 Day Classic Self Drive

This classic self drive lets you see the highlights of Namibia, traveling through an array of places to explore this wonderful country. You will start off in Windhoek for a night to acclimatise before picking up your 4x4 hire car. Drive south through beautiful scenery to arrive to the Gamsberg Pass. Here you will enjoy spectacular views of the Kuiseb River as well as some fascinating views of the landscapes. From here you will travel onto Sossusvlei and Sesriem to see one of the best attractions in Namibia which should not be missed - the highest dunes in the world. Travel on to the coastal resort of Swakopmund for an inclusive Living Desert half day tour of the Namib Desert. Here a number of unusual species of plants and animals are surviving in the sand dunes and it is truly fascinating to see. Next it is on to the World Heritage Site of Twyfelfontein, with its rock engravings and paintings which each tell a story. Enjoy your next 3 days at the world famous Etosha National Park to see the extensive range of wildlife. Your last night will be spent north of Waterberg Plateau at the Cheetah Conservation Fund (nr Otjiwarongo) to have the opportunity to get up close to these fascinating animals.

Day 1
Met on arrival at Windhoek’s Hosea Kutako Airport by a representative who will hand over your travel documents, brief you on your routing and assist with any queries you may have.
Windhoek: Overnight at Rivendell Guest House - Bed and Breakfast
Day 2
Drive to Corona where you can enjoy local activities including an all inclusive sundowner nature drive, horse riding, collecting gemstones, bushman art and photo oppertunities of game such as kudu, orynx and the mountain zebra.
Corona: Overnight at Corona Guest Farm - Half Board
Day 3
Drive to Sesriem and Sossusvlei to explore the dunes and even take a walk to Deadvlei to enjoy a collection of ancient camelthorn trees or climb nearby dunes.

Day 5
Drive to Walvis Bay where you can stop to see the famous lagoon, home to many bird species including greater flamingos. After, enjoy a pleasent drive onto Swakopmund for adventure activities such as sand boarding, tandem parachuting, fishing and quad biking.

Day 6
Today you can enjoy a Living Desert Tour which will take you into the delicate dune ecosystem to explore the wonderful adaptations of all types of wildlife and plantlife.

Drive to the mountainous region of Damaraland and maybe make an excursion to the Twyfelfontein rock etchings.

Day 8
Drive to the world famous Etosha National Park where you can enjoy animals from your camp
Southern Etosha National Park: Overnight at Okaukuejo Rest Camp - Half Board
Day 9
Make your way slowly east to your next camp which is home to the largest breeding colony of white backed vulture.
Eastern Gate Etosha National Park: Overnight at Onguma Bush Camp - Half Board
Day 10
Eastern Gate Etosha National Park: Overnight at Onguma Bush Camp - Half Board
Day 11
Drive to Otjiwarongo where you can enjoy half day visit to the Cheetah Conservation, the Otjiwarongo Crocodile Farm or to observe endangered Cape Griffon Vulture project.
Otjiwarongo Area: Overnight at Frans Indongo Lodge
Day 12
Return to Windhoek today, in time to connect with your onward flight.
