Samburu National Reserve is around 220 miles from Nairobi in the dry northern region of Kenya. It covers some 160 square miles with the Uaso Nyiro River flowing through it, and features wide plains as well as hilly and mountainous territory. As well as game animals like elephant, lion, buffalo, leopard and cheetah many other species can also be found, includin oryx, crocodile and the rare Grevy’s zebra, gerenuk gazelle and blue legged Somali ostrich.
