Porini Rhino Camp is located in Ol Pejeta Conservancy a 90,000 acre wildlife conservancy situated between the foot hills of the Aberdares and the magnificent snow capped Mount Kenya. Ol Pejeta Conservancy boasts an astounding variety of animals including all the “Big Five” (the endangered black rhino, leopard, elephant, buffalo and lion) as well a sanctuary for rescued chimpanzees and also incorporates the smaller Sweetwaters Game Reserve. The combination of amazing wildlife and stunning views across the open plains of Ol Pejeta guarantees an unforgettable safari experience.

Porini Rhino Camp is hidden in a secluded valley and set amongst shady acacia trees on the banks of a seasonal river. The camp consists of 6 spacious guest tents, each comfortably furnished with en suite bathrooms, flush toilets and safari showers. The camp is very environmentally-friendly with solar powered lighting and no generator. Each tent has been sited to have beautiful views of the surrounding area.

Day 1
Fly from Wilson Airport in Nairobi to Nanyuki, arriving at 1240. You will be met at the airstrip and transferred to Porini Rhino Camp, located in the Ol Pejeta Conservancy. Lunch and afternoon tea in camp and then head off to look for rhino with your driver-guide in the camp’s 4x4 safari vehicle. Return to Porini Rhino Camp for dinner and overnight.
Day 2
Full day in Ol Pejeta with game drives and walking activities from camp and a night game drive after dinner.
Overnight Porini Rhino Camp.
Day 3
Early morning bush walk or game drive, breakfast and then depart Porini Rhino Camp and transfer to Nanyuki for the flight back to Nairobi or on to the Mara

Access and Distance

  • The camp is best accessed by air from Nairobi to Nanyuki with transfers to the camp

Accommodation

  • Large Safari tents with a double and single bed, solar electric lights, en suite bathrooms with flush lavatory and safari shower
