Mombasa North Coast

The north coast of Mombasa is close to the international airport and features wonderful sandy beaches and azure Indian Ocean waters. It’s perfect for watersports and diving, and Kenya’s wildlife areas can also be easily accessed by air. Mombasa South Coast

Mombasa’s South Coast is reached by ferry from the international airport. Diani beach, one of the most celebrated in East Africa, is on this stretch of beautiful coastline. Other less visited areas, like Galu Beach, are also found nearby, and there are excellent watersports, diving and deep sea fishing opportunities.

Malindi

There has been a Swahili settlement at Malindi since the 14th century, and the port town boasts historic buildings and some of Kenya’s best beaches. The Watamu and Malindi Marine National Parks offer superb diving and snorkelling over coral reefs and the nearby Arabuku Sokoke forest is a paradise for bird watchers. Malindi is around 75 miles north of Mombasa and the ancient Swahili ruins at Gedi are nearby. The town can be reached by air from Nairobi, Mombasa and Lamu. Shimba

The Shimba Hills National Reserve covers a plateau just inland from the Mombasa coast and as well as being home to around 700 elephants, also has Kenya’s only sable antelope population. Shimba covers one of the largest coastal rainforest areas in Africa and is easily reached from Kenya’s coastal resorts.
